When It Feels Like a Lot (Because It Is)

Sharing what’s helping me stay sane, grounded, and okay through IVF.

Hi Powgirls!

Let me start by saying this: if you’re on the IVF journey, you are so incredibly strong. 💪It’s a process that takes a lot physically, mentally, and emotionally and it’s okay to feel all the feels. Seriously, it’s a lot, and you’re doing amazing just by showing up for it.

I wanted to share a little of what’s been helping me as I navigate this rollercoaster myself. It’s not always easy to talk about, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we’re not meant to do this alone. So here’s what’s been keeping me grounded—maybe it’ll help you too.

Lean on Your People 🤍

Seriously, don’t try to carry this on your own. Your partner, your friends, your family—they want to be there for you. Let them. Whether it’s venting about the hard stuff or celebrating the small wins, sharing takes some of the weight off. And if you don’t feel like talking? That’s okay too. Just having someone sit with you in the quiet can mean everything.

Take Care of Your Body (and Cut Yourself Some Slack) 🛋️

This process is a lot for your body, so be gentle with yourself. Eat foods that make you feel good, drink your water (I know, everyone says it, but it helps), and move in ways that feel right for you. And on the days where you just want to lie on the couch and binge your favorite show? That’s self-care too.

One tool that’s been making a huge difference in my daily life is Brain.fm. It’s an app that uses science-backed music to help with focus, relaxation, and even better sleep. I’ve been loving their “Deep Work” mode when I need to concentrate or “Relaxation” mode to wind down after a long day. You can try it FREE for 30 days by heading to brain.fm/POW. Trust me, it’s a game-changer.

Another thing that’s been a game changer for me lately is incorporating little rituals that help me feel refreshed and cared for like using a red light face mask. It’s a great way to relax while giving my skin some love, especially on days when I’m feeling run down. If you’re curious, the BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask has been my go-to. It’s such a soothing part of my routine, and you can save 25% with the code PURSUIT25 at checkout (only for 48 hours!)

Protect Your Headspace 🧠

It’s so easy to spiral down the rabbit hole of “what-ifs” or to Google every little thing. (I’ve been there trust me.) Try setting boundaries for yourself. Maybe it’s a daily time limit on researching, or maybe it’s swapping your phone for a book at night. And when your mind feels full, take a deep breath. You’ve got this.

Speak Up for What You Need 🗣️

You know your body and your emotions better than anyone else. Don’t be afraid to ask your doctor all the questions (even the ones that feel silly) or to let people know what’s working—or not—for you. This is your journey, and you deserve to feel seen and heard every step of the way.

Find the Bright Spots 🌤️

It’s easy to let IVF take over your whole world, but don’t forget about the little joys. Maybe it’s your morning coffee, a walk in the sunshine, or that funny meme your friend sent. Hold onto those moments they’re reminders that life is still beautiful, even in the hard times.

If you’re going through IVF, just know that you’re not alone. This isn’t an easy road, but it’s one filled with so much love and hope. Whatever happens, you’re showing up, and that’s something to be proud of.

I’m sending you all the love and strength in the world. We’re in this together, and I’m rooting for you every step of the way.

Love,

Mari
